Issue Position

Citizens have lost touch with an important purpose in life, that of helping others. Personal involvement in helping others brings personal satisfaction and appreciation for the blessings we currently enjoy. Unfortunately many have grossly abdicated the God given responsibility of helping those less fortunate or neighbors to the government.

Government has no Constitutional powers, business or ability to discern generosity or real need. Our current welfare system is the best testimony to the ineptness of government to help the helpless when 60 years ago the war on American poverty began.

Many private organizations exist to help the less fortunate. Local churches, non profit groups and emergency organizations need our support in time money and efforts. Perhaps the next time you see someone in need you actually meet that Need another simple opportunity is getting involved at your local place of worship; give your time and money.
